Second Rig Boosts ViaLogy
ViaLogy was in demand yesterday, rising 23.1 per cent to 4p. The gains followed news that a second rig sited on Atascosa's Galba Prospect in Texas had started using its sensor technology. ViaLogy also revealed it was in talks with another Texas-based oil explorer about a potential deal.

"Drilling dry wells represents a huge cost to the oil and gas industry and the application of ViaLogy's technology can considerably reduce that ratio," said broker St Helen's Capital.

ViaLogy's exploration technology has already been credited with locating a new oil deposit on the Galba prospect, in which the company has taken a 10 per cent interest.

Texas Oil Find Lifts Vialogy
ViaLogy registered the biggest gain on Aim yesterday. Shares in the sensor technology group jumped 89 per cent to 4¼ on news that one of its devices had helped a US explorer find a crude oil deposit in Texas. The company said its QuantumRD technology had accurately predicted the size, location and porosity of three reservoirs and it could receive a payment of $4m if oil is successfully produced.
